The shortage of coal could lead to a shortage of electricity in that case, if the government does not continue to actively reform the power industry. This is stated in an open letter to the leadership of the Energy Association, the Federation of Trade Unions, an independent trade union power and the Association of «UkrTETs» Yulia Tymoshenko. Especially poignant aspects of the problem described were raised by experts  at the conference "Investing in power: legislative and regulatory environment for private companies, which held 24 Sept, 2008.
